2011 World Camp in Ghana “This Time, It’s Africa!!” (July 27, 2011)

This Time, It’s Africa!!

Marking the opening of world camp in Africa, 2011 IYF World Camp in Ghana began on July 21st. On the first day evening, about 1,400 students across the state crowded into the IYF Ghana center. Students from Masan Lincoln House School presented L’echo (African dance) and Korean traditional fan dance which mesmerized the audience with awe and joy.

Rio Montaña’s songs echoed through the IYF Ghana center. As it has been long since their last visit, Rio Montaña passionately sang local songs and the audience expressed joy through their bodies. Everyone became on in heart as they conquered the stage singing and dancing with excitement.

Especially, this day was honored by the presence of Minister of Youth Clement Kofi Humado, who’d come to congratulate the world camp in Ghana. As the spirit of volunteering is important for youths to serve others, Minister Humado stated that he would like to actively cooperate with IYF to promote works initiated by the mind of service.

Pastor Jong Sik Joo from Korea delivered message of the evening. He said, even though we can only give into desire and thought without control, connecting with Jesus can empower us to break free from such thoughts. The students are advancing as the world camp is in progress. We hope many students will change and transform into new stars that shine across Ghana.
