Updated: Nov 16, 2022

Pastor Ock Soo Park's Bible Seminar, which started at Mugunghwagwan at Isabel Girls' High School in Busan in 1986, celebrated its 37th year.

At the first Bible seminar in 1986, about 700 people received the grace of being born again by accepting the gospel of true repentance and eternal atonement accomplished by Jesus Christ. As a result, 17 branch churches were established in 1987 alone, and it has been a pivotal point in spreading the gospel around the world until now.

This year is also the 60th anniversary of Pastor Ock Soo Park, who was saved by realizing the forgiveness of sins by Jesus Christ in 1962, and began his evangelism.

Pastor Ock Soo Park, the main lecturer of the Bible seminar, established Good News Mission and is actively engaged in missionary activities through branch churches in 100 countries including Korea. They are exchanging only with the words of the Bible, leaving the denominations.

During the 2020 corona pandemic, the gospel was spread around the world in 61 languages through 662 broadcasts in 125 countries, including famous Christian channels such as CTN, TBN, and Enlace, and active missionary activities were conducted online.

Pastor Park made an official visit to Israel in October and preached the gospel by holding “PEACE concerts” in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties with Israel and evangelism.

This visit was conducted with the full cooperation and invitation of Israeli Chief Rabbi Jonah Metzger, who Pastor Park first met in Israel in March and met and exchanged in Korea in July. Through interviews with mayors, religious leaders including Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger, and interviews with local media, the two countries strengthened friendship and explained mind education.

In the second half of 2022, Pastor Ock Soo Park's Bible seminar opened on the 7th at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium.

Meanwhile, King Mswati III of Eswatini sent a letter to congratulate the 60th anniversary of the Good News Mission.

"I wish the people of the Kingdom of Eswatini to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Good News Mission. Pastor has changed many people with the wisdom he received from God. I believe that Pastor's vision has the power of God. We were really happy when the pastor delivered the word of God to the people of our kingdom. I hope that you will continue to deliver God's love and hope to the hearts of people all over the world." (From the letter of the King of Eswatini)

More than 100 pastors from major denominations from around the world, including President Philip McCormack of Spurgeon Theological Seminary in England, Nelson Macanda, Secretary General of the Kenya Christian General Assembly, Godwin Della Piagome, President of Ghana International Full Gospel Church, and Simione Speculative Secretary General of Fiji Evangelical Church, will attend this event.

Pastor Rigoberto Vega Alvarado, the 18th President of the Costa Rica Protestant Association, who visited Korea to attend this Bible seminar, said in his congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony, “I was able to accept the fact that I was justified through the gospel that Pastor Park preached. In particular, when Pastor Park had a meeting with our president, the president said, 'Thank God for this wonderful gift. It will be the best experience for me to have met a pastor during the five years I was leading the government.' I am grateful for Pastor Park's life and thank you for everything he has done for us."he said generously, expressing his desire to see Pastor Park spread the gospel for a long time to come.

Prior to the sermon, the Gracias Choir, which won the highest prize at the 'Marktoberdorf International Choral Festival' in Germany, delivered God's love with a melody through praise. Following the praises of 'Have a little talk with Jesus' and 'Say yes' by the mixed a cappella candlestick, 'You wander in darkness' by world-famous violinist Genghis Osmanov, 'Intermezzo' by the Gracias Choir, 'Glory to the Lord' , followed by 'Bread of Life'.

On the first day, Pastor Ock Soo Park, the main lecturer of the Bible seminar, preached the gospel by explaining the process of forgiveness of sins in detail.

“Dear Seoul citizens, when Jesus died on the cross, He completely forgave our sins. He took all our punishments and paid the price for our sins. And He says that we are righteous. The next day, while John was baptizing, John said, 'Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!' While laying the hands on Jesus' head, the sins of mankind passed over and we believed in it, and when he was nailed to the cross, 'It is finished'. He bowed his head and died. 'I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.' God sent Jesus to shed His blood on the cross to forgive our sins." (Pastor Ock Soo Park's sermon on the first day of the Bible Seminar)

Ok-kyung Park, who attended in connection with the Ilsan Church, said, "I had a hard time at another church because of my daughter's problem, but I was connected to the Ilsan Church. I always had a burden in my heart, but I heard the gospel of the forgiveness of sins and the blood of Jesus, who made us holy and whole. I have become calmer, and I want to continue receiving counseling while listening to the talks in the future.”

Brother Byeong-soo Jeon said, “It has already been 37 years since the Bible seminar started, and I was also saved through the Bible seminar held in Seoul in the fall of 20 years ago, so I was deeply moved. I was able to attend, but it gives me hope to hear the clear word of truth through the Bible seminar.”

This Bible seminar will be held twice a day at 10:30 am and 7:30 pm until the 10th. More details can be found on the official website of Pastor Ock Soo Park's Bible Seminar (www.bibleseminar.kr).
