On February 10th, at 4:35 am, Pastor Ock Soo Park’s crew arrived in Buenos Aires airport in Argentina. After the Concert at the Congress, the last event scheduled for Peru, they took a night flight to Buenos Aires airport. Surrounded by the remnants of night atmosphere, they had to drive for about an hour to get to La Plata, where the World Camp was being held.
The first thing scheduled for Argentina was a meeting with Argentinean brothers and sisters at church. The meeting was arranged for about 20 brothers and sisters who had left church for a while then came back through last year’s World Camp.
Toward the end of the meeting, Pastor Park said, “I have a favor to ask of you. Next year, I will be 70 years old. Other than living a life for the Lord, there’s no meaning in life – living for my own self. God has given me indescribable amount of grace and blessings. Please, live for the Gospel.”
After Pastor Park’s sermon, continued the testimony from Pastor Young Gook Park. Pastor Young Gook Park shared with the brothers and sisters as he talked about Philip and Andrew – all year long in 2011, he lived with his own estimates, but as he purchased church coach bus and had cantata tour, God made him to walk on the path of burdens. Yet amongst such burdens, God bestowed grace upon him and helped him regardless of how he himself was.
At 3pm, there was an interview with the Channel 7.
At 6pm, there was a conference with the Mayor, Pablo Bruera at the City Hall of La Plata. For the last year World Camp in Argentina, the Mayor only presented himself to the event briefly and left due to his busy schedule. But this time, he gladly requested to have an interview with Pastor Park in his office despite of some misfortunates circumstances he was in – though he was re-elected last November, his mother fainted suddenly from the cerebral hemorrhage – her face was paralyzed as well – a couple months ago and the mayor also was in bad health from recently surgery. The conference was carried on.
The mayor greeted Pastor Ock Soo Park and his crew in person when they arrived at the City Hall. As Pastor Ock Soo Park conversed with the mayor concerning the juvenile issues, he pointed out how their hearts are not flowing. He also talked about how he preached the gospel to Paraguay President, President Lugo, then he took out the bible and preached the word.
10 minutes, 15 minutes.., as time passed by the secretaries at the City Hall grew impatient because of the other schedules previously has booked for the Mayor. Nonetheless, the Mayor took heed to the words from Pastor and was accepting the words. Though it was not so long, Pastor preached the gospel; the Mayor accepted the gospel and received salvation. Afterwards, the Mayor promised to postpone all the other matter scheduled for him but attend the World Camp to give a welcoming message and to reward VIPs himself. He held Pastor Park’s hand when pastor was about to leave and said, “Thank you.” He was expressing his heart.
Looking back today, it was unbelievable. Argentinean brothers and sisters, announcer and camera man from Channel 7, and Mayor Pablo Bruera … Regardless of circumstance and time, Pastor Ock Soo Park preached the gospel only. The righteousness of God inside the Gosepl preached by Pastor changed people’s hearts and was surely leading them.
