[Gracias Choir] 2012 Gracias Easter Cantata in New York Mahaniam (April 19, 2012)

“Who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.”

Today the 8th of April, on Easter Sunday, at the MAHANAIM Auditorium there were two consecutive Easter Cantata performances by the Gracias Choir at 5:00 P.M and 7:30 P.M with the topic being, “Who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.”

While preparing for the Easter Cantata for a short period of one month, our first steps were slow and we constantly encountered burdens and difficulties which tried to confine us within our limits; however the wisdom of God bestowed upon us made us strongly believe that He was continually leading this Easter Cantata.

The night, two thousand years ago, when Jesus went up Mount Gethsemane and desperately prayed until his tears turned into drops of blood, His footsteps which led His body which had been struck by whips and was carrying the cross, and the nail scars inflicted on him while being nailed to the cross made a lasting impression in our hearts and also caused the mark of Jesus inside the hearts of the Choir members to deepen.

Every year in December, through the Christmas Cantata we had the opportunity to sing about the birth of Jesus to many people. This year in April, through the 1st Easter Cantata we were able to sing about Jesus’ pain, death and resurrection and so we truly thank the Lord.

We believe that as people see Jesus being whipped and falling, that they will believe in their hearts that their sins have also been carried away, and we have a grateful heart as we think about the people we will earn through the Easter Cantata which is the closest to the gospel.

We thought it to be impossible; however God never rested while helping us from the start and to this moment and will continue to do so in the future. We give all the glory to Him and hope that the Easter Cantata will be used as a significant tool for the gospel.
