[Haiti] 2014 Haiti English Camp Day 7- The Banquet

In the city hall located in the palace-like Delma, Haiti, an IYF festival was held. The 2014 Haiti English Camp started with a huge roar coming from the 2000 citizens gathered in the city hall. The citizens were place into groups according to when they arrived and booths were made on the grass outside in order to begin the classes. The booths consisted of CPR, Stretching, Personal Hygiene, Gospel Class and Dance Class.

Between each session there was a Righteous Stars dance performance as well as a cultural performance, which brought out a joyful reaction from the citizens. After each performance there were waves of cheering and thunderous applauses. You could not cool down the intense atmosphere that was made by dancing together and enthusiastic participation. The Haiti English Camp in the Demla city hall is to last from June 22nd to June 24th.

The Mayor of Delma, Wilson Jeudy, helped the IYF while supporting them actively, showing a highly positive response to the Haiti English Camp. The relationship between our Mission and Mayor Wilson Jeudy could be dated back to 2011. The nephew of the mayor at the time was a part of the IYF in the Dominican Republic and hearing the news that there would be the Grand Bible Seminar held in Haiti, the student came himself to his uncle, the Mayor, to hear Pastor Ock Soo Park’s sermon. The Mayor was able to open his heart towards the Mission and once he came to the Minister’s Forum, he received salvation. Saying that he was overjoyed to meet a true God, he struck a good relationship with the Mission and actively supported the Haiti English Camp this year. We can also see that the Camp has been meaningful in terms of the fact that the city of Delma and the IYF were able to advance their relationship with one another.

“I am so happy to be able to have the English Camp in Haiti, this year as well. I feel that the existence of the IYF in Haiti is really changing many students. IYF is helping the youth who do not have the correct direction and values in life. The world of the heart that the IYF and Pastor Ock Soo Park have is truly great. I had a look around all of the programmes of this event and it seemed to me that every single one was fun and beneficial. Now I want to try them out. I feel that the volunteers are running the event with their hearts and I am always grateful towards Pastor Ock Soo Park and the IYF.”

Matthew Chapter 22 Verse 4- “Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepare my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.”’

There seemed to be another Haiti inside of Haiti. Inside the city hall Haiti looks like a bright and peaceful place, like paradise. On the outside, although Haiti is thought to be covered in poverty God used this place for the venue of His Wedding Feast. Whoever comes to the Wedding Feast can meet God.

God has prepared everything for the English Camp, such as the best venue and the best programmes. In order to participate in the Wedding Feast, countless citizens of Haiti, off all shapes and sizes, came to the English Camp. The God that met them in many different shapes such as the Gospel Class, Song & Dance Class, Academy, English Class, Music Class; I hope that they will return with Him full inside of their hearts.
