In these Scriptures, we can feel a conflict stemming from the conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus not going well. Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things?” It shows us that Nicodemus was a bit frustrated. Nicodemus said, “How could these things be?” It means, “This is nonsense. How can such things be?”
