In the Bible, there are the words Jesus spoke with Peter in mind, words with Judas Iscariot in mind, words with the Samaritan woman in mind, and the words with Philip in mind. Jesus always saw the world of their heart, and because the world of the heart they had was different from the world of the heart of Jesus, Jesus worked to lead them into His world. We can see throughout the Bible that the people who met Jesus had the core of their hearts changing into the image Jesus wanted.
