President Faure Gnassingbe and founder of the International Youth Union (IYF) held a meeting in Togo Presidential Palace on July 28th. At the meeting, they discussed the ‘Togo youth problems and solutions and construction of youth center.’

The Secretary of President (also Minister of Youth Affairs), who was open to the IYF, recommended a meeting with Pastor Ock Soo Park while introducing the World Camp to the President. President Faure Gnassingbe invited Pastor Ock Soo Park, who was visiting Togo for the 2017 Togo World Camp, to the presidential palace.

“I am pleased to be able to directly find concrete solutions to the problem of youths with IYF Founder Pastor Ock Soo Park,” said the President. “As much as the IYF has had great achievements in character education for youths all over the world, I ask that you strive for the same for the youths of Togo.”

IYF founder Park Ock Soo emphasized that “youth problems are getting worse all over the world, and the only solution is for the young people to learn how to think, interact, and have self-discipline,” and explained IYF’s background and the need for mind education.

In addition, Pastor Ock Soo Park said, “Mind education can be effective only if it is started from childhood. But after 10 years of education for elementary, middle, and high school teachers, there will be a basis for implementing mind education on its own system even if IYF does not support it.” He further added, “We will need a youth center to educate young people in the future, and land to build a center,” requesting support for land.

Togolese President Faure Gnassingbe agreed to the IYF conducting youth mind education over the next decade and the need for land to build a youth center and asked specifics on how to support.

President: “How much land do you need?”

Pastor Ock Soo Park: “We need about 33,058m²of land.”

President: “I can give you that. When can you start mind training? ”

Pastor Ock Soo Park: “We can start right away.”

President: “When are you coming back to Togo?”

Pastor Ock Soo Park: “I’ll make time next year.”

Listening to the President’s specific questions and answers, we were able to feel the President’s heart to solve youth problems by introducing Mind Education into Togo as soon as possible.

In particular, after the interview, Pastor Ock Soo Park preached the gospel to the President by quoting Romans 3:23-24.

“Real change starts from the heart. As a President of a nation, I rule a country but it is not possible without God. I believe that God has justified. Thank you. ”

Following the performance of the Gracias Choir, President Togo rejoiced with applause and a smile of joy and gratitude. The President sent his companion, who will solve the difficulties together, Pastor Ock Soo Park and his company to the entrance of the presidential palace.

A meeting with the Prime Minister in the morning of the same day.

Meanwhile, in the morning, there was a meeting with Pastor Ock Soo Park, founder of IYF, and Prime Minister Komi Sélom Klassou, at the Government Office Conference Hall. The interviews were also made possible by the invitation of Pastor Ock Soo Park by reports from government official on the work of the IYF.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Komi Sélom Klassou said, “We will actively work with the ministry officials to help IYF work for Togolese youth.”

The Togo World Camp was held under the title “President-sponsored Togo World Camp”. IYF’s youth activities are well received around the world and the president’s assistant, who understood what each government was doing, accepted the request of the IYF and the meeting was made possible by the permission of the Presidential Office.

After the World Culture Camp in Korea, meetings were held with the President and Prime Minister in Ghana and then Togo.

Through this meeting, there will be a great opportunity to lead young people to mind education with the Togolese government. It is hopeful that hopes and dreams will be planted in the youths of Togo and they will grow into future leaders.
