The Secretary of President (also Minister of Youth Affairs), who was open to the IYF, recommended a meeting with Pastor Ock Soo Park while introducing the World Camp to the President. President Faure Gnassingbe invited Pastor Ock Soo Park, who was visiting Togo for the 2017 Togo World Camp, to the presidential palace.

“I am pleased to be able to directly find concrete solutions to the problem of youths with IYF Founder Pastor Ock Soo Park,” said the President. “As much as the IYF has had great achievements in character education for youths all over the world, I ask that you strive for the same for the youths of Togo.”

IYF founder Park Ock Soo emphasized that “youth problems are getting worse all over the world, and the only solution is for the young people to learn how to think, interact, and have self-discipline,” and explained IYF’s background and the need for mind education.

In addition, Pastor Ock Soo Park said, “Mind education can be effective only if it is started from childhood. But after 10 years of education for elementary, middle, and high school teachers, there will be a basis for implementing mind education on its own system even if IYF does not support it.” He further added, “We will need a youth center to educate young people in the future, and land to build a center,” requesting support for land.

Togolese President Faure Gnassingbe agreed to the IYF conducting youth mind education over the next decade and the need for land to build a youth center and asked specifics on how to support.

President: “When are you coming back to Togo?”

Pastor Ock Soo Park: “I’ll make time next year.”
