8:20am, 17th October 2017, Pastor Ock Soo Park and company arrived at the Harare International Airport. The Boy Scouts Governor, the General Manager of Education, and the representative of CLF Zimbabwe, Pastor Nyabanga all came to the airport to welcome Pastor Ock Soo Park. Although the night-long journey from Ethiopia to Zimbabwe was very tiring, while conversing with the governor of the Boy Scouts, all of that went away.
Leaving the airport at 10am, Pastor Ock Soo Park then moved to the press conference room at the Meikles Hotel Business Lounge. At the press conference, there were representatives from 10 different broadcasting stations and newspapers. There were a lot of different media including the Zimbabwe broadcasting station, the Herald and the Daily to interview Pastor Ock Soo Park about the IYF.
The interviewers asked what work the IYF were going to do for the youth in Zimbabwe. It was a question about the work of the IYF until now including how the spiritual and Mind Education will continue to be developed in Zimbabwe. They were amazed by the work that the IYF were doing in countries all over the world and they hoped for such great work to happen in Zimbabwe also.
Zimbabwe Christian Leaders Fellowship (CLF)
In the Volume Hall of the Meikles Hotel, the Christian Leaders Fellowship (hereafter, CLF) took place. 250 Education representatives and Ministers representing Zimbabwe had all gathered to one place. Through many different guest speakers, the CLF had been ongoing until now.
The Deputy Minister of Education was so happy that he induced the whole crowd to stand up and sang hymns together. They welcomed Pastor Ock Soo Park and company very warmly and the event began with the introduction of Ock Soo Park and his company.
Afterwards, there was the performance of the Gracias Choir. The Choir members sang in the native language of Zimbabwe, Shona. Shona is a language that is used by very few people in Zimbabwe but as the Korean Choir members began to sing in their native language, everyone was so happy and they were able to open their hearts.
Pastor Ock Soo Park, who stood on the pulpit, preached the gospel through Hebrews, which talks about the tabernacle in heaven and the tabernacle on earth.
“In the Old Testament, they gave offering in the tabernacle in order to wash their sins, however, if time passes, they become sinners once again. However, Jesus Christ did not give offering in the tabernacle on earth but that in heaven. That is how he cleansed our sins perfectly!
In Hebrews 9:11-12, it says, ‘not of this creation, not with the blood of goats and calves, but with his own blood, He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
Eternal Redemption for you!
Eternal Redemption for me!
Eternal Redemption for us!”
While listening to the sermon of Pastor Ock Soo Park for two hours, all the participants were amazed. Many of the participants’ eyes began to sparkle while listening to the preaching and you could feel that their hearts were changing. Most of the participants were happy that their sins have been washed and they confirmed that they were sanctified by raising their hands. Also, there were many participants who wished to continue to exchange with the Good News Mission and asked the Good News Mission to lead them.
“It was an amazing day for me. Especially, the servant of God talked about the old covenant and the new covenant. People in the Old Testament gave offering for their sins. However, in order to make this perfect and eternal, he gave us the Saviour and he has given eternal life to all those who have believed in him. When we accept Jesus Christ as our only Saviour there is no condemnation and no sin. Because we are the new creations of God’s country. This word struck my heart. I am no longer under the law. The law still exists but I am no longer tied down by the law and through the sanctification of the blood of Jesus Christ, I live by the grace of God. Thank you.” Pastor Nybanga / Minister Representative
Meeting between Pastor Ock Soo Park and the Minister of Education
On the afternoon of this day, Pastor Ock Soo Park had a meeting with the Minister of Education. The Minister of Education had participated in the Forum last ear and was practically able to see the change that the Mind Education brought to the youth so he is working harder than anyone to bring the Mind Education to Zimbabwe. Actually, last month, the Ministry of Education invited Pastor Jae Hong Kim to hold the me in front of 9000 principals. Before educating the mind of the students, he thought that the priority was to educate the teachers and education leaders first.
The Minister of Education invited Pastor Ock Soo Park to the Ministry of Education to explain to him the Mind Education that is happening in Zimbabwe and to reveal his wish to sign an MOU in order to pursue much more practical activities.
Pastor Ock Soo Park introduced the IYF and the Mind Education to the Deputy Minister of Education and the General Manager of Education as well as many education representatives.
The founder of IYF, Pastor Ock Soo Park said, “We can harvest wheat in six months, apples in 5 years but for humans, it takes 20 years. When I was growing up there were not enough to eat so it was easy for the people to bend their hearts and work hard in order to give a good inheritance to their children.
The Jewish people discovered the 78:22 rule, and therefore they were able to discover the flow of money and they were able to become wiser than any other nation. Rather than saying to our youth, ‘Don’t play games!’, or ‘Don’t do drugs’, if we discover the source that is leading them in this way and remove it, we will be able to change the students. The youth are the future of the country. I hope that the youth in Zimbabwe are able to learn this strong mind through the Mind Education, and become youth who can lead the country.”
“I stayed in Korea for 5 days last July. Through their development Korea has their own history. While speaking with the founder of the IYF, Pastor Ock Soo Park, one of the things that were mentioned were educating the teachers. And I saw such an inspirational choir. So, we wanted to collaborate with them so that the musical talent can be developed also in the people of our country.
Also, I was very interested in the Mind Education. We requested for Pastor Jae Hong Kim to come to the Principals’ Conference to give a lecture. This event took place in August and it was successful. After the lecture, our educators were able to have self-confidence. It was the message of hope.
We welcome the founder of IYF, Pastor Ock Soo Park. In order to carry out the plan, it requires the inclusion of the government. We are going through the process of signing an MOU in order to work more effectively. I thank Pastor Ock Soo Park and his company for coming to visit us in this way.” – The Minister of Education.
“Zimbabwe is one of the lowest countries even in Africa and it is also small in the mission but through the visit of Pastor Ock Soo Park, it grew up into a place in which such great work can happen. Through the Principals’ Conference that we had last August or through the meeting today, we were able to see how much they wanted to carry out this Mind Education. Through the visit of Pastor Park, it was such a precious time in which the IYF could be known to the people of Zimbabwe and government officials.” – Missionary Jae Yun Kim/ Zimbabwe
In the evening, there was a visit to the Zimbabwe church. Many students, short-term missionaries and brothers and sisters warmly greeting Pastor Ock Soo Park and company. Despite being tired after such a tight schedule, Pastor Ock Soo Park preached for a long time and gave hope to the brothers and sisters of the Zimbabwe church.
Zimbabwe was the second country of a five-country Africa Tour.
In Genesis 38, in the same way that all the difficult times that Joseph faced while being sold as a slave to Egypt was just the process in which he was able to have many people from the famine after becoming the Governor of Egypt, although there were big or small difficulties in Zimbabwe, those were not difficulties but the just the process that God uses in order to give Zimbabwe blessing. That is the hope that we all have.
